We already began research and building plants for the biological treatment of wastewater and sewage sludge as far back as 1971. In 1980, another important discipline was added to this area of our work, namely the anaerobic digestion of organic material. The first industrial-scale plant for the production of biogas from manure went into operation with a 500 m3 digester in 1983. Since then, we have completed a large number of digestion plants for various input materials, all to the full satisfaction of our customers.
As a plant engineering and construction company with a strong focus on process technologies, we are constantly improving and expanding our product and service portfolio. 30 years of experience in design, construction, commissioning and long-term support of numerous reference projects completed to date assure the economic efficiency and operational reliability of plants built by STRABAG.
